Welcome to the Digital Shootout event coverage website! The Digital Shootout is the largest gathering of underwater image-makers in the world, whose focus during the weeklong+ workshops is to improve their shooting and editing skills. This year's host resort, Coco View in Roatan, Honduras welcomed our international group of 55 guests and 16 staff.  Assembling the industry's top professionals to share their techniques and tips is another feature that makes the Digital Shootout unique. Our staff to guest ratio ensures ample small group and one-on-one time to share concepts and techniques.

Diving the reefs and walls of Roatan is a photographer's delight with abundant marine life subjects large and small, making it an ideal location for the Digital Shootout. Warm-Up Week offers a little extra time for those who haven't been diving in awhile, have a new camera system or just want to extend their holiday. The Main Event Week is hit-the-ocean-finning the moment you arrive, filled with daily diving, seminars and image critiques. Then repeat all week on the fast track to improved underwater imaging.

Our SHOOTOUT LIFE section gives you the flavor of the Shootout experience – the diving, the learning, the camaraderie and the FUN.

Even though it's called The Digital Shootout, the emphasis of this gathering of underwater photographers is learning. Our attendees range from burgeoning beginner to salt-encrusted advanced, and regardless of the skill level, everyone goes home learning something new. Year after year, the organizers – Backscatter Underwater Video & Photo and Under Exposures - manage to collect some awesome prizes to give away at week's end, when even the most inexperienced has gained skill and confidence to enter into our friendly competition. You'll find inspiration and beautiful imagery in the CONTEST RESULTS section as moments of wonder were captured in both still images and video.
