The Sony a1 has been my favorite camera for a few years now. It could be called the Swiss Army Knife of underwater cameras because it can competently do it all. With 50mp of resolution and excellent image quality, it is a no compromise stills camera. My favorite feature is the 1/400 flash sync speed which allows for much more control over ambient light (a whole stop when compared to most other brands of full frame mirrorless cameras!). That combined with an excellent custom white balance at depth and 4K 120p recording also make it a no compromise video camera. The Sony a9III got my attention this trip for having an even greater capability of controlling ambient light with the global shutter, but in many situations the Sony a1 is still a strong contender.
