GEAR TESTS: Olympus OMD EM5-MKII

This year at the Digital Shootout I decided to try to shoot the same set up as much as possible. I chose the Olympus OM-D E-M5 MarkII with 8mm fisheye, except for 3 dives that I used the E-M1. The PT-EP13 housing offers very good ergonomic design, making it easy and comfortable for the user to change settings and functions. One of the great features the E-M5 MarkII offers is the Lever Function switch that allows you to switch functions very quickly. Out of the box, the default is to ISO and WB. Personally, I customized the Lever Function Switch to mode 6, switching to video mode right away is especially useful when we want to shoot video on-the-fly. The E-M5 MarkII offers variable frame rates of 60, 50, 30, 25 and 24, slow and fast motion captures. Another customization you can do on the E-M5 MarkII is program the Fn1 button to back focus, taking full control of the focus on every shot, especially when using the 8mm PRO lens.
Great camera for Top Side! The E-M5 Mark II is also weather resistant when using any of our PRO lenses or any of the weather resistant lenses. The advantage of this mighty mirrorless camera when traveling is the housing is compact and it can fit inside any standard size carry-on camera bag. Also the lenses are smaller and lighter allowing you to bring a wide variety of lenses to all your travels.
