GEAR TESTS: Backscatter Optical Snoot OS-1 Underwater Review
ROBIN DODD Producer |
This accessory allows you to take the Backscatter Mini Flash and Macro Wide 4300 Video Light to the next level. It works directly on each of those lighting products by easily snapping on to the front of the light and tightly focusing the beam down to a sharp-edged tightly focused beam. By using the additional circular or oval shaped aperture cards you can reduce the size of the beam even more down to an extremely small beam for the smallest critters. One aspect of the Optical Snoot that makes it easy to use is the way that it pairs with the super bright focus light on the Mini Flash to perfectly duplicate what the actual flash beam will do. Basically what you see is what you get - there is no difference between your focus light preview and the actual flash pattern. Whether using it as your main source of lighting or as an off-camera backlight, the Optical Snoot with Mini Flash or Macro Wide 4300 Video Light is the easiest and most compact way to dramatically light your images with a concentrated beam on the subject and a completely black background behind.
